Before it disappears

In East Germany, there was art everywhere in public spaces. Examples of this can still be found in even the smallest places. Young people in Thuringia searched for traces of building-related art from East Germany, did research on the history of a local work of art and created their own artworks. The exhibition shows the works of the young people and presents, in part, previously untold stories of architectural artworks from JENA, NIEDERORSCHEL, WEIMAR, ARTERN, and WOLKRAMSHAUSEN.
An exhibition by the Ettersberg Foundation, realised by BASIS LEIPZIG. “Demolition or into the Museum?” was curated in workshop together with young people.
